Meet our Neurosurgery Residents

The Ohio State University’s Department of Neurosurgery combines innovative technology, world-renowned physicians and scientists, and a collaborative, patient-centered approach to studying and providing surgical solutions for complex neurological disorders. As part of Ohio State’s Neurological Institute, our neurosurgery residency, fellowship and education programs provide countless opportunities for focused learning and skill development.

Our teams pioneer therapies on every neurological front, including stroke, neuromodulation, endoscopic skull base approaches, spinal cord and brain implants, and other complex operations. Ohio State ranks among the nation’s top 10 public research universities. Areas of neurosurgical study include stroke, brain tumors, skull base approaches, functional neurosurgery and spinal dynamics.

The departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery have been ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top programs in America. This year, we are ranked #34 in the nation and the #1 neurology and neurosurgery program in the Columbus area.

William E. Hunt Summer Scholars Program

We’re happy to announce we are opening applications for our annual William E. Hunt Summer Scholars Program in Neurosurgery. This is a nine-week program for one to two first-year medical students interested in neurological surgery. The experience runs May, June and July and gives students the opportunity to develop a research project, participate in rounds, scrub-in on cases, attend conferences, and give a presentation at grand rounds to the department at the end of the program. To apply please submit you CV and research proposal to Sarah.Hancock@osumc.edu or Andrew.grossbach@osumc.edu. Please also reach out and we can discuss getting you paired with a research mentor if you do not already have one identified.
